image Windows Mobile Powered Devices are now getting equipped with fast Wi-Fi experience. Yes, the Wi-Fi P322/P322X series is now offering OEMs, industrial application hardware providers and end users a simple plug and play solution to add 802.11 a/b/g WLAN to the Windows Mobile and CE powered devices. This new solution is provided with Secure Digital I/O (SDIO) Slot.

Now, let us describe the attributes of this new and faster Wi-Fi solution one by one. The 802.11a/b/g support is there to provide data rates up to 54Mbps at 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectra. Moreover, there will be an extended operating temperature range from -20 degrees to +85 degrees.

WiFi-Manager manages WiFi connections in Windows

wifi2 The development of any software to manage the Wi-Fi connection and settings in your Windows has the problem of dealing between two different versions of Windows namely the Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista. There is a vast difference between the two versions as the APIs for Wi-Fi network management is different from each other in the two versions.

In case of Windows XP SP2/SP3, the “Wireless Zero Configuration” API performs all the required operations with Wi-Fi connections. Although it is the most widely used version of Windows, there is no guide available to show the way it works. On the other hand the “Native Wi-Fi” API used in case of Windows Vista is much simpler way to mange your Wi-Fi networks. You can also use a part of this API in Windows XP SP2 by downloading the software and installing the patch from Microsoft. Being a developer tool, the Wi-Fi manger simplifies the control of Wi-Fi settings by providing a COM interface for all the available API functions. It specifies the available networks and has functions for connecting or disconnecting and also for working with Wi-Fi network profiles.
