The people at ifixit.com are known for the sheer information they provide by dismantling different newly released gadgets. They did a wonderful job of it with the iPod Nano recently and the news is that they have also managed to tear down the newest version of iPod Touch, launched by Apple. In doing so, they have enlightened the users with a number of surprises.

The first thing that they found out when they took apart the iPod Touch was a faster 820.11n Broadcom wireless chip. The chip was not active though it was easily able to bring wireless-N together with a, b and G in the iPod Touch. This has led to the speculation that iPod Touch will soon see an OS update which would definitely make this faster connection a reality. The team at ifixit.com also found an FM receiver/transmitter built on the Broadcom chip which would ensure that the iPod Touch has a better reception of FM signals. This would certainly be welcomed by people who miss the FM on their iPod Touch when they are working out in the gym.

The most exciting surprise to come out of this dismantling process was the discovery of an empty space in the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch otherwise has a number of things that have been closely connected to each other. So, the detection of an empty space has forced people to think that there is a possibility that a camera would make way in that vacant space. There is a great chance that the highly rumoured camera would come on display in the next CES show which is expected to be held in January.

Not only are these gadgets cheap but also provide you with endless hours of entertainment. The best part is that sometimes they are educational, so what else would you like to have this Christmas?

Once known as the teenage boys thing, video games are not considered as an entertainment medium having a wider audience than ever before. The credit for this popularity now goes to consoles like Nintendo Wii. According to the industry analysts Verdict Research, the gaming industry is expected to grow by 42 percent this year itself.

Even mobile makers have jumped into this arena of gaming. Take for instance mobiles like Nokia N-Gage have been designed keeping gaming in mind. Then, there is Apple iPod Touch that comes wth a number of games. Sonyʼs Playstation Portable is not behind too with its popularity among gamers. Overall, you can see an expanded game audioence for Apple iPod Touch, Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation Portable.
