This initiative was taken to connect your 3DS to The Cloud with ease.

This is a good news for those who are residing in the UK, as all these hotspots have been opened in the UK. According to a report from International Business Times, this service has been backed up by BSkyB-controlled The Cloud.

This service is meant to bring users access to all the console’s usual online features. It will also be handy when in-game DLC becomes available later this year. This service also intends to add a little purchase incentive to the DS’underwhelming successor and also aims to boost the gaming giant’s own declining earnings.

Most users face the risk of security as they use plain text for their email and for surfing the internet. As Wi-Fi hotspots are mostly unprotected users have to be extra careful when they use Wi-Fi hotspots. The radio signals can easily be picked up by anyone around and users have to compromise with both their privacy and security. It is especially dangerous when one uses public hotspots for shopping and banking. Therefore one has to make sure that they have their firewall running and also ensure that they disable their file and printer sharing.

Log-on pages which require better security have Security Sockets Layer connections. The way to find out if you are accessing a SSL page is to make sure that the address of the page starts with https://. The web pages with SSL connections also have a lock icon towards the bottom right hand side of the web page. The use of WEP or WPA makes communication encrypted. There are many companies which provide virtual private network connections to the users which keep it encrypted even when a user access unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots.

Services like Megaproxy helps users to access even those sites that are locally banned. Such surfing service not only provides encryption but also guards you against any snooping when you use Wi-Fi hotspots. The service comes as very useful if users wish to access sites that are prevented for users from overseas. There is a possibility though that you may not be able to stream video and may come across unnecessary advertising banners.

Novatel has come up with a new MiFi card that lets users to create mobile Wi-Fi hotspots that can tap into the Internet via 3G mobile networks. Designed to create its own ad-hoc Wi-Fi hotspots, this MiFi card can route traffic for that hotspot to EV-DO Rev.

Using this amazing MiFi device you can get access to mobile broadband connectivity even from a moving vehicle. Not just this, it lets you connect with your Wi-Fi capable cameras, computers, game consoles and media players.

According to Novatel Wireless CEO Peter Leparulo, this MiFi device is the starting of a new category of mobile broadband solutions. It features an internal battery that provides up to four hours of active use and up to forty hours on standby mode.

The innovation with which Novatel Wireless has designed this easy to set up MiFi device is appreciable as it can be set up with just a single click without any additional drivers or host applications.

The new MiFi card from the house of Novatel will be out in the market in the first half of 2009.
