The small device is compatible with some select laptops that feature Intel Wireless Display and manages to change your living room HDTV into a big remote monitor and one which has no cables. The Push2TV lets the users to send stored media and videos from various websites wirelessly and is just a shade larger than a pack of cards.

The set up of this device is also very simple and with Intel Wireless Display, it further simplifies the browsing and viewing experience of the users. The easy set up is made possible by the capabilities of the device to get connected to the TV by HDMI and latest notebook preloaded and powered by the 2010 Intel Core Processor. According to the sources in Netgear the Intel Wireless Display feature of the device displays the captured frames in real-time and via Intel My Wi-Fi Technology sends the video and audio directly to the device.

The Push2TV is also reportedly the first commercially available Wi-Fi Direct solution and has the ability to save up to 50 percent of overhead bandwidth. The stylish looking sleek black device would be available very soon in the U.S. through Best Buy and there are also plans to bundle it together with selected laptops at promotional prices. The Push2TV device would also be sold separately at $100 to the customers and Best Buy would be the retailer who makes this exciting networking solution available.

The Wi-Fi Direct, a wireless network system is what the Mac users could ask for. It is incredible software that will enable any Wi-Fi device to create a connection to any network base station and also maintain direct communication with devices that are not there on the same network. The technology that was announced by Wi-Fi Alliance will possibly be available by the middle of next year.

The promising technology offers a great deal to the users. It allows to make easy connections and includes a service discovery unlike the other Wi-Fi networks that have only the Network’s name. Another great thing about Wi-Fi Direct is that it provides a great deal of security. It supports Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 which is a full Wi-Fi security standard which even Apple has supported for wireless infrastructure purposes from a very long time. The technology also initiates a special security connection by using Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

The key feature that separates Wi-Fi Direct from all the other existing Wi-Fi connection methods is its ability to use a single Wi-Fi adapter to maintain communication to a base station. Unlike a Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct is intended for network connections and very huge transfers in less time. The technology boasts of great speed which is made possible by the use of 5 GHz Wi-Fi channels which have the ability to carry and transfer data at a much faster rate. So, the Mac users will have every reason to rejoice when this technology hits the market next year.

The new WiFi Direct is a wonderful device, which is definitely going to help the users to exchange relevant data and share applications without the availability of any WiFi access point. It absolutely requires no hotspot or router to establish a wireless connection. The new wireless networking specification has a myriad uses, which goes beyond the Bluetooth territory even threatening to make the current wireless protocol outdated. The devices would soon get certification to get WiFi Direct compliance by the mid of next year. The certification will be finalized by the WiFi Alliance.

Edgar Figueroa, the executive director of WiFi Alliance believes that the new spec is a big leap for the industry. The single technology solution would provide excellent benefits for all the users to transfer their content and share applications in a fast and easy way even when there is no WiFi access available around the area. WiFi Direct is set to make the WiFi more pervasive and rally beneficial for the end users and across different businesses.

Though peer-to-peer wireless networking is still around, it is somewhat complex and unmanageable and has a maximum speed of just 11 Mbps. On the other hand WiFi Direct promises speed of up to 250 Mbps in addition to broadcasting the availability of its devices and finding out other WiFi Direct devices. The great thing about WiFi Direct is that it can connect in pairs as well as in groups and you need to have just one device compliant with WiFi Direct to establish a connection and to transfer files and information.
