To the great delight of the users, the Wi-Fi iPad would hit the stores on April 3 and the preorders would start being taken by the company on March 12. The release was announced by Apple and it also confirmed the availability of the 3G models towards the end of April.
Some of the major countries across the globe like Australia, France, Canada, Spain, Japan, Italy and the UK would see the launch of the Wi-Fi model along with the 3G model. The online store of Apple would take orders for all models; however orders for Wi-Fi models would be accepted only on the Apple Retail Store. Users have until March 12 to make up their mind on whether they want a Wi-Fi or a 3G device.
The Wi-Fi iPads is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB models which would cost you $499, $599 and $699 respectively. The 16 GB version of the dual models would cost the users $629 while the 32GB would cost around $729. The 64GB version would require you to shell out $829.
Apple confirmed the addition of 12 new iPad applications in the Apple store. Although there are speculations about the 3G network provider for the device, there was no clarification from Apple about it. Users would be able to get their hands on the iPad only on the online store of Apple. Apple also confirmed that the users would be able to download the iBook and iBookstore applications for free from the Apple Store.
