The Wi-Fi Direct, a wireless network system is what the Mac users could ask for. It is incredible software that will enable any Wi-Fi device to create a connection to any network base station and also maintain direct communication with devices that are not there on the same network. The technology that was announced by Wi-Fi Alliance will possibly be available by the middle of next year.

beamwifiThe promising technology offers a great deal to the users. It allows to make easy connections and includes a service discovery unlike the other Wi-Fi networks that have only the Network’s name. Another great thing about Wi-Fi Direct is that it provides a great deal of security. It supports Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 which is a full Wi-Fi security standard which even Apple has supported for wireless infrastructure purposes from a very long time. The technology also initiates a special security connection by using Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

The key feature that separates Wi-Fi Direct from all the other existing Wi-Fi connection methods is its ability to use a single Wi-Fi adapter to maintain communication to a base station. Unlike a Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct is intended for network connections and very huge transfers in less time. The technology boasts of great speed which is made possible by the use of 5 GHz Wi-Fi channels which have the ability to carry and transfer data at a much faster rate. So, the Mac users will have every reason to rejoice when this technology hits the market next year.

I agree, a great phone. There is an update to the operating system on this phone. Android 2.1 is available free. I think you need to check with your Network for a download.
