It is incredible how GPS has evolved over the years. The size is shrinking, prices going down and features enhanced. The latest is from Bushnell, which has launched a GPS that is even smaller and the price lower. It was a few years back when Bushnell introduced a small and simple GPS called Backtrack and was priced below $100. It was a simple concept to help people navigate from one place to another.
The latest devices are called the BackTrack Point 3 and BackTrack Point 5 and these two devices offer the same services in trademark simple way but come in much smaller sizes. It is still the same concept of marking a location and navigating your way back. They feature LCD screens for better viewing.
The BackTrack Point 5 offers the option of storing up to 5 locations, including temperature, altitude and time readings. Bushnell claims that this latest device has faster satellite acquisition as compared to the previous version. Sized 3.5 x 2.3 x .88 “, it comes at a price of $100.
On the other hand the BackTrack Point 3 has the option of up to 3 locations. However, it doesn’t come with other features like clock, altitude and temperature. Its size is 3.25 x 2.13 x .75” and is priced at $70. This device makes travelling extremely convenient and hassle free. You just need to mark a position and you would be directed back to it.
There is no doubt that these are very handy device but the fact that they are smaller and cheaper makes them even more appealing.
