The X-series NWZ-X1000 models is the first Wi-Fi enabled walkman player from Sony that features an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) touchscreen, known for its brightness and high contrast. It has Clear Audio Technologies as well as Slacker Radio. The player uses Wi-Fi in combination with an Internet browser to surf the Web on the wide 3-inch screen of the player.
The player has a promising touchscreen with a 180-degree viewing angle. Sony’s X-series Walkman is the industry’s first video MP3 player to offer integrated digital noise cancelling technology. The new model uses a unique, built-in digital noise cancelling (DNC) software engine to block out ambient noise. It also has special noise filters for airplanes.
The Sony X-series Walkman broadens options for internet. There will be a different applications for mobile YouTube website. With the working Wi-Fi one can also check music links and media tracks through YouTube. When the stations are refreshed in a Wi-Fi area, the content is buffered and cached on the Walkman player so those tunes can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere.
For storage, the NWZ-X1000 supports 2GB of internal memory where you can store your favorite music tracks and videos. Most uses compare this Walkman player with the Apple iPod considering the 16GB and 32GB capacities and the music and video quality. The best point on which Sony could compete would be the price, a premium audio technology and the impressive OLED display.
The X-series Walkman is now available in the market in either black or pink for about $70.
