MerConnect IR-516

The MerConnect IR-516 is simply a wonderful internet radio packed with stunning features that ensures you get an amazing audio experience. With its Wi-Fi Internet radio feature, users have access to over 10,000 internet radio stations from across the world. The stations can be searched by the name of the country, genre and the station. The IR-516 has a USB port which makes it very convenient for users to play their MP3 and WMA music players.

Apart from supporting iPod, it also gives an extraordinarily clear and powerful sound through its 2×5 in built speakers. The IR-516 can be set up very easily and all you have to do is to plug the unit into the power before you set up the wireless networking. The unit has absolutely no problem in supporting most of the present wireless protocols and uses the WEP or WPA to connect to a secured Wi-Fi network. The unit is without a keyboard and users have to go through the tedious task of going through a long list of letters and symbols to punch in the key for the wireless network. However, the good thing about it is that it only has to be done once.

Once the connection is established, users can easily browse through a wide variety of stations and enjoy the music. The unit also remembers the last station that you were listening to before turning off the radio and connects you that station automatically the next time you turn the radio on. Some of the latest models of this unit also have the FM tuner and DAB radio.

I agree, a great phone. There is an update to the operating system on this phone. Android 2.1 is available free. I think you need to check with your Network for a download.
