Toshiba, the world’s leading technology company has recently announced that it will foray into the SD card business. These SD cards are Wi-Fi enabled and it is an integration of wireless communication and data storage capabilities. Toshiba has joined hands with a Singapore based company called Trek 2000 to develop these sophisticated wireless cards. By entering into this market, Toshiba has presented a clear threat to the current market leader Eye-Fi.

The memory card is equipped with the latest X2 engine that combines 200 MHz processors, committed engines for flash and radio interface along with the hardware that accelerates encryption.
